First bred in Los Angeles under a not-so-great name, this strain’s genetics are a mystery. Most growers agree that this strain carries some OG Kush ancestry, but we can only guess at the rest of this legend’s lineage. Kosher Kush has, however, passed on its impressive characteristics to strains you’ll recognize: 24K Gold, Raider Kush, Family Jewels, and Miss USA.

Before this bud hit the limelight, it caught the attention of seedbank Reserva Privada—but you might know them better as a sub-division of DNA Genetics. A team of experienced breeders from the West Coast, Reserva Privada’s buds are the best of the best—all of their strains have the distinction of each winning a cannabis cup!

In love with the strain, but not the name, Reserva Privada acquired their own cut from the original growers and began growing and developing the strain themselves. To honour the strain’s origins, they named it Kosher Kush, which they say is a reference to all those who try it being “blessed” by its rare taste and aroma. Uniquely rich, earthy, and a bit fruity, it’s a flavour that connoisseurs everywhere swear by—and is a big contributor to this bud’s many awards. Kosher Kush is just one of Reserva Privada’s star-studded buds: it won the High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Indica in both 2010 and 2011, and also took home their coveted Best Strain of 2011.

Kosher Kush has light green, heavily frosted buds that we find are less dense than most cultivars with OG Kush genetics. When we open the jar, we’re delighted by this strain’s room-filling aroma of flowers, earth, and subtle notes of fruit!
